Congratulations to the ten talented Little Elm High School students who have qualified for the State Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) with a total of 11 outstanding entries! They will showcase their work at the state competition in San Marcos on April 25-26.
VASE is the premier high school art competition in Texas, where students submit original artwork and provide a written reflection on their creative process. At the regional level, jurors evaluate each piece based on originality, technical skill, and alignment with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards.
"Out of 1,729 registered entries, only 148 works of art advanced to the state level. This is a tremendous achievement for our LEHS art students!" said Frank Felice, Little Elm ISD Director of Fine Arts.
To qualify for State VASE—the highest honor in Texas high school visual arts—artworks must earn a Superior Rating (IV) and then rank among the top 10% in Area Judging.
Little Elm ISD is proud to celebrate the following students who will represent our district at State VASE:
- Chandra Ankem
- Daryn Boykin
- Isabell Luckett
- Jackson Lawson
- Jillian Pitts
- Kaleb Barr
- Katelyn Ott (2 Entries)
- Meidi Lai
- Olivia Winger
- Zara Wilkerson
Best of luck to our talented artists as they compete at the state level!
